PROFESSIONAL PROFILE 

Through its experts the OKTAÉDER Kft. has a significant experience in river regulation, river hydraulic and structural engineering, harbour construction, and in implementing thalweg inlets of purified wastewater.

Thalweg inlets

Thalweg inlets are constructional tasks usually related to leading purified wastewater into live water courses. Implementations are in all cases unique. The number and size of water equipment and the technology chosen determines the extent of uniqueness. Basically two processes can be applied during constructions. For small diameter, lightweight fittings the floating technique, for large diameter, massive fittings the drawing technique is applied.

RENO mattress protection

The RENO mattress technology is specially designed for protecting pipelines installed in waterways and lakes, river-beds and for constructing embankment. The wire mesh is a spatial steel truss structure filled by a special filling machine with frost-resistant natural stone used for hydraulic works. Due to its weight of 3-4 tonnes usually several pre-constructed mattresses are transported to the site, and they are placed to their final position via a lifting frame mounted on a hydraulic dredger placed on a floating pontoon. Due to their heavy weight, frost-resistance and manyfold steel protection (corrosion) the mattresses provide several decades of protection to the engineering constructs.

Landscape rehabilitation works

The majority of the hydraulic engineering tasks involve activities that can only be done from the water. Two special equipment – and also two special hydraulic engineering fields – of work done from the water are „hydraulic dredge placed on a floating pontoon” and the so-called „Watermaster”-type hydraulic dredge. In the first instance a hydraulic dredge of high-cutting shovel equipped with special fittings is placed on an extremely heavy-load (even one thousand tonnes) pontoon (self-propelled). The pontoon shall stand fixed in the river bed, so the pontoon is equipped with variable depth legs. The hydraulic dredge is suitable for river works (e.g. cunette dredging), pipe-laying or as a member of a machinery chain. The machinery chain consists usually of dumb barges, self-unloading vessels, measuring and push tugs and salvage ships. The „Watermaster” type dredges are usually machines suitable for so-called hydro-mechanical lake dredging. They are usually transported to the site by a trailer, then after arrival, the self-propelled device assumes its position in the water.
The dredge is actually a very steady equipment mounted onto a float. It is capable of forwarding the fine material to several kilometres to a mud cassette, or collecting the green matter (reed, sedge) by a special head. This equipment is outstandingly useful in such environments where it is not, or hardly possible to work with a hydraulic dredge or dragline excavator, or where the transportation of the dredged material is impossible for environmental reasons
